Kaite: I have some money mom.
Me: Oh, where did you get that?
Kaite: I got it out of your apron from when you made me lots of money.
I serve on Saturday nights at Cracker Barrel and when I leave Kaite would cry so I started to tell her that I had to go to work so I could make her lots of money. I always give her my change to put into her piggy bank and for her offering.
Me: so what are you going to do with that money Kaite?
Kaite: I am going to buy something.
Me: your not going to put it in the offering and give it to God?
Kaite: No, allot of people already gave Him money.
Me: but you have to give God some of your money, why don't you just give him like two of your pennies (she had 4 and usually she gets all the quarters out and puts the pennies and dimes in her bank, she knows the value of quarters)and then you can keep the rest.
Kaite: I don't want to. He has allot of money he don't need any more.
Me: Kaite what would God tell you to do with your money?
Kaite: Give it all??
I just asked her if she kept it or gave it all, with that look of do I tell her I gave it or not she told me that she kept it. But she was going to give it all on Wednesday night. I guess I will have to hold her to it! hehe
It does amaze me though how a 4 year old knows that God would say to give him all your money but us adults have a hard time letting go of 10% If only we could learn from the children!
