The power of a wife's love!

A very old man lay dying in his bed. In death's doorway, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip cookie wafting up the stairs.

He gathered his remaining strength and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort forced himself down the stairs, gripping the railing with both hands.

With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven.

There, spread out on newspapers on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies.

Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted wife, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?

Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table. The aged and withered hand, shaking, made its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when he was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife.

"Stay out of those," she said. "They're for the funeral.

The Christmas Tree!

This season has been allot different than last year. Last year there was some talk about not saying Merry Christmas at work and stuff like that. Well this year they did it. They changed our Christmas party to a Holiday party. The only thing is we had a Christmas tree and Santa came to see the kids. Now if it was a holiday party then why did just Santa show up and why was the Easter bunny not there and what happen to the fireworks.
People crack me up with the Holiday thing I mean come on WHAT HOLIDAY ARE YOU CELEBRATING. And they say that they are celebrating all of them! No they are not they are just going with the flow of stupid people who want to make things difficult.
Believe it or not most religious people who are in their Bible's and know where Christmas came from they will tell you that its NOT a religious holiday. Jesus was not born on Christmas day......and if he was then what does Santa have to do with baby Jesus????? Just like Easter but we won't get into that one right now!
My big point is don't take a harmless holiday (Christmas) and try to change it all around just because it offends some people.
So are we going to stop calling Memorial day Memorial day because people don't support the war present or past? No that would be stupid and having a holiday with a NAME and a tradition that is older than any one alive does not hurt any one!
I don't like to hear people cuss but there is nothing I can do about it. I can politely ask them not to in front of me and for the most part they will say sorry and try their best not to do it again. But I must say that hearing a cuss word is allot worse then hearing MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I am so sick and tired of people wanting to just be stupid over something that is supposed to be a happy and giving time of year!
So for those of you who don't like the word Christmas, I am sorry that it offends you but I do have FREEDOM of speech and as long as I breath every year for Christmas I am going to put up a Christmas Tree and say
"MERRY CHRISTMAS"
Oh and another thing if its a Holiday tree then why is it not up for every holiday????? Just something to think on!
